What it's about:

So over at drawing day, they want to create enough noise worldwide for the sake of art. Their aim is to reach 1 million drawings worldwide.

What you can do:

You have to upload an image on drawing day and mention it's purpose. You can basically upload them to any art related site but there are a few that are mentioned. If you upload your image(s) to those sites according to the instructions, your drawing will be found and it will be just one of the thousands that want to make a difference and show that this community is big enough to have something to say.

I admit that I already had a drawing which can be considered "on topic" so it wasn't too hard to participate to this week's illustration friday showoff.

The drawing I chose was the little happy boy.

Unfortunately I lost the original one on paper somewhere so the only remains of this picture are the digital version. The original is black and white but I had some spare time one day and I colored it a bit and this is the result.

I managed to check out some of the submitted images and there were quite a few that were really nice. Even if most of the people try hard to make a living selling their images, it's nice to see that there are these kinds of 'contest' with no prizes involved and still there are tons of people submitting...

What it's about:

They pick a topic (suggested by users) and you basically have a week to come up with an illustration which is on that topic. After you're done you can submit your work. There are some really talented people drawing and creating stuff that is probably better then what I can do, but it's still worth submitting. Who knows...maybe you'll get lucky and your work will become the "Pick of the week" which is chosen randomly by the way.

What you need:

• an illustration on that topic
• a site to upload it to (it can be a free blog service like the one I'm using)
• a 50x50 thumbnail of your image

This is my first post on this blog. Usually people start with an introduction about the topic of the blog but since this blog has no specific topic, I don't really know what to say. It is going to be about art, probably and about everything I find interesting on the web.

If I will have something to tell you about a specific drawing, I'll probably write an entry from time to time.

OK. I admit. This is not my first blog. I’ll probably write a few entries every now and then about artists that deserve respect.

In fact – you can add a comment linking to your site if you would like to show your work or get in touch…If you want people to know about your site through my blog I won't consider it a spam, but people: I don't need comments that advertise pills that make your sex life better - you know what I'm talking about - or the best deal for the latest iPhone replica...If you stick to the topic (art) your comments will not be deleted.
